Dr. Kazahaya graduated from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine.  He is also a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania where he obtained his Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Bioengineering.  He completed his Internship at TAH-LVHC (Now Lehigh Valley Health Network) and his Ophthalmology Residency at Hahnemann University.  He received additional training as a fellow in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at the University of Virginia.  Dr. Kazahaya is Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1996.

 

Maz Kazahaya, MD, FACS

 

Dr. Kazahaya specializes in the diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous.  Lehigh Eye Specialists has the region's most modern and sophisticated diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, including scanning laser ophthalmoscope-based digital fluorescein angiography (FA) with eye-tracking capability, high-definition spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (HD-OCT), the PASCAL laser (for greater patient comfort), conventional lasers, high-definition ultrasonography, and cryotherapy.

​Dr. DeRose specializes in the medical and surgical treatment of anterior segment abnormalities, including corneal edema and scarring, keratoconus refractive abnormalities, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and complicated cataracts.  He has extensive experience in the latest innovations in this complex specialty.  Dr. DeRose performs penetrating keratoplasty, DSEK, LASIK, PRK, glaucoma surgery, small-incision phacoemulsification for cataract surgery, and surgery for anterior complications of cataract surgery.  Using specialized equipment, such as Lenstar for determining Premium IOL's, high-definition anterior segment OCT, corneal topography, and pachymetry, Dr. DeRose is able to provide his patients with the highest level of anterior segment care.

Dr. DeRose received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry at the University of Rochester.  He obtained his Medical Degree from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine.  His Internship was conducted at Harbor UCLA Medical Center and his Ophthalmology Residency at Hahnemann University.  Dr. DeRose completed a Research and Anterior Segment Fellowship at Allegheny General Hospital.  Dr. DeRose is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at Drexel University School of Medicine and is Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1998.  Dr. DeRose joined Lehigh Eye Specialists after serving patients in Northeast Pennsylvania for over a decade.

 

David A. DeRose, MD

William M. McLaughlin, Jr. D.O.

Dr. McLaughlin is a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology. He continued his education at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry receiving his Doctor of Optometry.  He then pursued his medical education, graduating from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He entered an internship at Community General Osteopathic Hospital, in Harrisburg, and completed his Residency in Ophthalmology at the Detroit Osteopathic Ophthalmology Consortium, serving as Chief Resident.
 
Dr. McLaughlin completed a two year Vitreo-Retinal Fellowship at the Schepens Retina Associates and the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary, Harvard Medical School. He also held a research appointment at the Schepens Eye Research Institute of the Harvard Medical School. Dr. McLaughlin is Board Certified in Ophthalmology since 1993 and serves as a Board Member of the American Osteopathic College of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology and been a Board Examiner since 2002. 
 
 
Dr. McLaughlin joins Lehigh Eye Specialists after practicing in Northeast Pennsylvania since 1992. He brings his wealth of experience, joining Dr. Maz Kazahaya, Dr. David DeRose and his daughter, Dr. Julie McLaughlin. Dr. McLaughlin specializes in the diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. With state of the art clinical and surgical facilities, Dr. McLaughlin is proud to serve patients at Lehigh Eye Specialists.

Julie M. McLaughlin, OD

Dr. McLaughlin is a 2008 graduate of the University of Virginia, where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Medicine. She graduated from Salus University, formerly PCO, in 2012. Dr. McLaughlin completed Residency Training in Ocular Disease at the Baltimore VAMC prior to joining Lehigh Eye Specialists in 2013. She is eligible for Board Certification in 2014.

Dr. Ng, Lehigh Eye Specialists Refractive Coordinator, graduated from the Pennsylvania State University in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Sciences. She received her Doctor of Optometry Degree from PCO in 2000. Dr. Ng works closely with Dr. DeRose in coordinating Cataract and Refractive Surgeries. She specializes in biometry, IOL selection, and patient education and care.
